We now have the SMILEYNET Store. This is a store, sort of like Google Play Store. This will store apps that we use on the network. For now, it's mainly android apps. In the spirit of things, there is an app for the store, as well, which can be downloaded from itself. Then, there are some other apps, which have been developed.

New Blog for Network Services
It's a small change to the website, but now we have a network service blog. This one is yet another way to report changes in the network services, such as outages.

Where We Are
We are making progress toward version a of the network! We are now at configuring the household computers, which will take some time. The Windows XP machine is first, as it's long past time to work out the "bugs" with that system. We are not phasing it out yet. We expect it to hang around for a long time to come at this time. It may not have security updates anymore, but it is still a pretty good system to use.

Where We Are
We now have our servers up and running! They all work okay now! We have the first pass of finishing the servers done. The first pass is just to make them work. Now we will be doing the rest of the passes.

vfedoralinux
We will NOT be building the vfedoralinux server. Why? Well, the problem is that the OS is too old to function on Virtual Box. So we will not be building it. It follows, that the vredhatlinux server would be the same thing, so we will not be building it either. We now have our servers up and running!

vsuselinux
We created another App server. It is vsuselinux. This is a favorite OS of mine, as far as Linux goes. It is second only to Mandriva/Mandrake Linux. We can now do more.

Where We Are and Where We Are Going
In the previous post, I recapped, "Where We Are Going with this". That is basically where we are now, as opposed to where we were.
Now, I will delve into what I can see possible for the future of the network, now that some of it is starting to take shape.
For starters, the first priority is to get it to what I call "version a". This is the first working version of the network. There are many steps to do this.
The first step, is that we have to get all the hardware and make all the servers work. The hardware is one piece away from getting all of it. That is a docking station (a personal thing for Dennis Earl Smiley). But since we had all of the network hardware, work on the servers could start.
We have 3 virtual servers left until all the servers work. But there are multiple passes required to get them to work. The first pass is where we just get all the basic functionality to work.
We will be completing it to "version a". Then we can see if we need a version "a-a" immediately or not. Probably we will need a version "a-a" immediately.
What will be possible when we reach version a?
Well for one, we will have all the functionality of the servers complete, so we will be able to log on to use Apps and stuff. We can start to organize our mail/e-mail as well. We should have a good definition of Amazon Echo and Google Home functions, as well as other assistants. We can start to use it in everyday life.
The network can be started to be used in everyday life at that point. This will simplify our daily routines.
